The NOW Command

What happens if you have something you absolutely MUST get done that day and want to ensure you remember?

This can be challenging with traditional calendars or reminders - particularly if it is something little but important and your calendar is booked. With a busy calendar, you might not know when you might be able to fit it in. If you set a reminder - what happens if you can’t attend to it at that moment? We can try to burden our memory, but distractions can disrupt the best intentions.

How can we ensure we remember to handle a little but important thing?

This is the purpose of the NOW command: to put something in front of us on the calendar that doesn’t go away until it is done.

Tasks that have the NOW command are rescheduled every 30 minutes to the current time.

NOW tasks follow you throughout the day, and every day, until marked done.

There are two ways to add the NOW command.

The Web UI: Check the “Schedule NOW?” checkbox.

Your Calendar: Another approach is to add the NOW command word after the activation keyword task.it on a calendar item,

EXAMPLE:

TASK.IT
NOW

As always, to mark the task as “done” go to the task.it/tasks webpage or remove the “task.it” keyword from the calendar item. Within 30 minutes, the green box on the task should change to a checkmark, marking it as done.
