Time Blocks

Got a to do list you want separated from your workday such as work for the weekend?

The ON command allows you to specify the time block when you want a task done.

Sometimes work isn’t best for the workday - the weekend or evenings might be better. But not every weekend is perfect. Sometimes we want flexibility for living life and spontaneity. This is where Task.it can shine. Didn’t finish the task this weekend? Rest easy: Task.it will reschedule it.

Here’s a Quick Start to create your first TimeBlock Tasks.

Consider a task you want to target on a weekend - or maybe a weeknight? Maybe work around the house? A home project?

If you are currently in our Free trial and you put a task on a weeknight - then you can see Task.it rescheduling night-after-night.

Ideas for the Ambitious

READING LISTS: We like to use TimeBlock Tasks for our Reading List. Anytime there is something we want to read before bed, we add it to the task. This is a task we never mark as done. Every night, it is rescheduled by Task.it so it is always on the calendar and easy to see.

When Not Using Quick Tasks

You can enter TimeBlock Tasks in one of two ways:

On the web: At task.it.

Directly in your favorite calendar:

Add the “task.it” Activation Keyword in the Notes section and add the “ON” command to define a time block. Here are a few examples:

EXAMPLES:

TASK.IT
ON Weeknights

TASK.IT
ON Monday

TASK.IT
ON Monday, Tuesday

TASK.IT
ON Monday
ON Tuesday 5p-10p

TASK.IT
ON Weekends
ON Wed 5p-10p

The ON command tells Task.It what days of the week and timeslots it can reschedule an event. If no time declaration is stated, we will set the default work time specified on your account. Note that you can stack ON commands to specify multiple time windows for scheduling.
