Day 5 towards Mastering Task.it
The START Command
What if you don't want to see a task now - but you want to see it in the future?
With Task.it, you could use a DEADLINE command - but what if the task, such as shopping for a birthday, is months away. It would be preferable to start scheduling the task in the future.
This is the purpose of the Task.it START command. The task won’t start to be scheduled until the date given.
This works particularly well in combination with the DEADLINE command.
Here are a few examples below.
Directly in Calendar: Another approach is to add the START command after the TASK.IT Activation Keyword in a calendar’s notes section. The START command can handle a variety of formats. Combine it with the DEADLINE command you learned previously to turn it into a Countdown Task. If you use the Quick Starts above you can look at how they appear in your calendar. Here are some examples:
EXAMPLES:
TASK.IT
START Dec 1, 2025
TASK.IT
START Dec 1
TASK.IT
START 12/1/2025
TASK.IT
START 12-2-2025
Congratulations! You have now stepped towards mastering the START command!
